What makes these weekends worth it
Explore the mountains around Brasov without the guesswork — The Carpathians above Brasov offer everything from forested ridgelines to open rocky summits — Postavaru, Piatra Mare, Bucegi, Ciucas and quieter peaks most visitors never reach. The problem is knowing which trail suits your fitness, when conditions are good, and how to get there without a car. That's what we handle. You show up; we take care of the route, the pace and the safety.
What to expect on a typical hike — We meet in central Brasov on Saturday or Sunday morning. Groups are kept deliberately small — usually no more than 8 people — so the pace is relaxed and the trail doesn't feel like a queue. Most routes run 4–7 hours of walking with around 600–1,000 m of elevation gain, a proper stop for lunch with a view, and time to actually look around. You'll need sturdy walking shoes, a daypack, water and layers for the ridge. Everything else we'll tell you in advance.
Honest about difficulty — These are real mountain trails, not manicured paths. Some routes are suitable for fit beginners; others involve steep or exposed sections and are better for people with some hiking experience. When you sign up for the list, we describe each hike's difficulty, distance and elevation clearly so you can choose what fits. We'd rather you pick the right hike than feel out of your depth on the day.
Who joins these hikes — Mostly people based in or visiting Brasov who want to get into the mountains on a weekend without organising everything themselves — solo travellers, couples, small groups of friends. Some have hiked before; some are trying it for the first time. What tends to work is a willingness to walk uphill for a few hours and an interest in actually seeing where you are, not just ticking a summit.
